{Teaching New Concepts with Scrapbooking}

Do you follow Amanda from KevinandAmanda.com?  I love that site.  It's written by Amanda, who *might* be a long-lost sister, considering her love of all things cupcake and travel. She also has free fonts, photography tips, and craft ideas.  One of my own favourites was this :

Darling, right? Well, yesterday my son {incorrectly} figured he could jump from the hood of my car with a folded towel as his parachute.  Today, he spent the day milking his already pathetic injury and moaning about the boredom while I struggled to keep him occupied and cheery and suddenly this little project came to mind.

 Amanda took old cardboard, scrapbooking supplies, twine, and made an album that is small on size, but big on fun, and it caught the attention of both my babes, not an easy feat!  To mimic this, we used one of the 3,000 boxes we seem to have on hand, what fancy paper was in the craft box, and I chose a theme from which my babes could learn.

For my daughter, we did zoo animals,

and for my son we chose a city {London.}

 My daughter's had coordinating scrapbook paper to match the animals and my son was given a couple sentences regarding the culture that he added to each page.

 We used the cheapest possible scrapbooking stickers {$2 total}, boxes, sisal twine, and papers to introduce new concepts and themes, and now they each have a special and personalized book in which to keep these little lessons!

Click on over to her tutorial, and you'll find that clearly, Amanda is much more adept at making wee albums, but we certainly enjoyed putting ours together, and I suspect we'll add more to ours as we pull out the craft boxes.

 Thank you, Amanda!
